We love helping Cincinnati home buyers and sellers, but we'll admit we have an ulterior motive! We have a LOT of furballs to take care of :)
The first batch of cats was two mom cats and five kittens dumped at the top of our driveway and found late one evening:
7. Violet (RIP, unfortunately this first batch is reaching senior citizen territory so we lost Violet last Thanksgiving)
Then a trip to the vet found someone that needed adopted:
8. Bunny The Chihuahua (who just turned 8 years old)
And then another adoption to give Bunny someone to play with:
9. Tido (another Chihuahua and prematurely gray!)
Then more kitties followed when another family came out of the woods and announced their presence on our back deck:
12. Cloudy Cat
Then some foster failures, more cats:
Two outside cats "adopted" us, so we provide them outside shelter, food and water:
17. Big Red
18. Gray Kitty (yeah, I know, we didn't put much effort into naming the outside strays)
And then another foster failure who know "owns" our basement:
And two more Chihuahuas:
20. El Jefe
So current count is 14 inside cats (4 in the garage, 1 in the basement, the rest with their designated 3 story cat condos and lots of free exercise time in the main living area (bedrooms are off limits!), 2 outdoor cats and 4 Chihuahuas.
Now they're not all takers and no givers! Bunny the Chihuahua and Swayze are both certified pet therapy animals. And you know how many cats get certified? Not many, because...well....cats, you know how they can be about doing what someone else wants them to do! But Liz has extraordinary skills when it comes to animals of pretty much any type.
And Bindi earned some dollars for kibble by being a cat model and making it "big time" on Iams treat bags a couple of years ago!
Liz spends a lot of time doing volunteer work with the animals, visiting the local hospice, VA hospital, various senior centers and kids' activities. Add in some cat fostering and work with Trap Neuter Release as needed.
As you can guess, food and care for the critters is both expensive and time consuming. There's two of us to split the workload, but it's a lot of bowls to fill and kitty litter to scoop (trust us, you wouldn't KNOW we had that many cats if you walked in our home unless one of the kitties had just dropped a fresh "atomic" in the litter box). Daily scooping, hardwood floors frequently vacuumed, a washer/dryer set dedicated just to the pets and the net result is a clean house, all the time.
So those "big bucks" we earn helping people buy and sell homes? Obviously a lot of that goes right back into our business, another large piece goes to Uncle Sam and his friends, our church gets a share, and then we have reasons 1-20 with meows and barks asking for their share. So when you ask why we help people buy and sell homes? There's a lot of furry reasons we work hard for our clients :)
So we know we're biased, but when you're thinking about buying or selling a Warren County area home, how about considering a pet friendly real estate agent team to take care of your needs? Just give Bill a call at 513-520-5305 or email Liz@LizSpear.com and we can discuss how we can help.
