Something significant happened this morning! Like many across the nation who are members of the class of 2019, my niece gathered together with her classmates. listened to the familiar strains of Pomp & Circumstance, listened to a few brief speeches, and then waited for her name to be called.
If your last name starts with "S", you're going to wait longer than most, but eventually she crossed the stage, received her diploma and walked back to her seat.
Soon she'll be leaving home and heading to basic training (she joined the Army?????) GO NAVY!!
I'm proud of what she's achieved, and what she's yet to accomplish.
With today's technology, I COULD have stayed home and watched it live on the internet, but there's no way to justify missing this kind of family moment. Best 500 miles I've put on my car in a long time :)
