Warren County Ohio Real Estate News and Observations

Unsupported

walking the tightrope without a newUnsupported.

If you've got a piece of tech, the word "unsupported" isn't something you want to hear.

Something that was working fine yesterday has a problem today.  And the creator of said tech has determined they don't want to work on it any longer.  You can buy their latest and greatest, figure it out on your own or hire someone else to (hopefully) figure out a way to fix the problem.

Such is Life.  You assess the situation and decide the best path for the moment.  Some things are easy to figure out, others are too serious to risk going solo.  You just don't know what you don't know.

Which brings me to home buying and selling.

Perhaps you're REALLY experienced in buying and selling real estate.  You're comfortable being on your own.  Any problems come up you figure you know what you need to know to solve them.  And perhaps you do.

But the average home buyer or seller?  How many times have you bought or sold a home?  Once?  A few times?  Maybe a half dozen times?  That's not enough to guarantee you know everything you need to know.

And relying on the Internet for help?  That can get pretty risky.  Someone is answering your question, but they live in California.  Trust me, while buying and selling homes might seem like it should be the same anywhere, it's not.  Even locally we can see changes as we cross county lines, much less how drastically different things can be when you cross state lines.

So the last thing we recommend if you're buying or selling a home?  Being unsupported.  You're putting big money on the line, you want support in making sure you know what you need to know.  That's why hiring an experienced real estate agent might be one of the best decisions you ever make.
