Lebanon Ohio Hosts Country Applefest September 27 2014
Have an apple fritter! Quoting Homer Simpson, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....
A cup of apple cider? Got that too! Apple pie? Caramel covered apples? You bet they're both available! Basically if it's apple related you can probably find it next Saturday at the 32nd annual Lebanon Country Applefest! It's one of our HUGE annual events, and since Summer is officially in our rear view mirror by then, it's our local way of saying Hello to the Fall season!
Country Applefest is a ONE DAY event, RAIN OR SHINE held in historic downtown Lebanon from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.! And admission is free, although you may spend a bit of parking depending on how much (or how little) you want to walk!
You'll have vendors, but they are limited to arts, crafts and food! No politics and no soliciting at this event or you'll be kindly asked to remove your person from the festival!
And since this is an Apple Festival, why not have an Apple Bake-off while we're at it? Last year's theme was Apple Pie, this year it's Apple Dumplings!
Now you can expect some crowds, and obviously the better part of Historic Downtown Lebanon will be shut down to traffic so everyone can have a great time!
Parking will be available at the four municipal lots (Sycamore St. between Silver & West Mulberry AND behind Golden Lamb, the intersection of W. Main & St. Rt 63 and Mechanic St. behind City Hall) OR you can park at Lebanon Chrysler Dodge Jeep (518 W. Main) and ride the free shuttle. FYI, parking at the car dealership isn't itself free, they do ask for a donation to the local women and children's shelter (win-win, right?). And if you're lucky, you may find some on-street parking in the surrounding city streets, but based on personal experience expect to be walking a few blocks if you do.
And just in case you were thinking about bringing your pet to the Country Applefest, sorry, but that's not allowed unless you have a service animal.
