We've just recently upgraded to Rainmaker status, but after months of reading other's blogs, we've seen the clout ActiveRain has with Google for ourselves!
Last night we had an appointment with a seller whose listing we have had on the market for some time, just a recalibration on the marketing in effect and strategy going forward. Prior to the meeting, we did a Google search for her address to show her many of the sites her home is posted for sale.
Then we did a search for: "Patio Home" Hamilton Township for sale. Pleasantly surprised when the top of page 1 was our blog post on the home from June 17! We use vflyer to help syndicate our listings and spiff up our Craigslist ads, so the same information is already out on the web, but posting it individually as a blog post and BANG, straight to the top!
Thanks ActiveRain for increasing our visibility and helping our seller feel more comfortable that potential buyers can find her!

That is great. Do you Google or do you use a SERP Tool? Most consumers are going to be thrilled when you show them the rank using Google but some really technologically informed folks won't be impressed.

Maureen: No special SERP work, just a Google search. For the most part, we haven't attracted the uber tech type who would be really into exactly how the SEO part is driven.
Barbara: I've got to say I liked coming up ahead of the builders in our area who are marketing patio homes!
Wallace: "Recalibration", it's the engineer in me! Sometimes after a few months sellers forget everything the listing agent is doing for marketing, and it IS a joint effort. Our seller has some friends who work at P&G, GE, etc here in the Cincinnati area. She asked us for flyers that her friends can post at work. Maybe not the most likely source of finding a buyer, but we only need the right one, wherever they may come from!
Liz & Bill, it is great to know that Active Rain can give our listings so much exposure. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. I also think it is a great idea to involve your seller in the marketing, and putting those flyers out at work is a great idea. Like you said, all you need is one.
