Sometimes You Need A Guide

Our area has a supermarket called Jungle Jim's.  Actually, "super"market is an understatement.  Jungle Jim's is unique in that while most supermarkets have a few shelves devoted to "Mexican", "Asian", "Italian" and MAYBE a few other international offerings, Jungle Jim's offers aisles and aisles of international foods in addition to the typical domestic stuff.  If you want it, chances are they have it!

But it CAN be confusing!  We were there this afternoon picking up a few unique ingredients Liz needed for some future cooking.  Ingredients that are sourced from other countries, things like "grapeseed oil" and "garum marsala".   Now somethings we could at least narrow down to the country section, but other items?  Where could they be?

Now we had two choices:

1.  We could wander around guessing where to find things or

2.  Ask for help

What did we do?  Actually a combination of the 2.  Some items we had enough information to figure out.  Hoisin sause was in the "Japan" section.  Grapeseed oil we just got plain lucky and stumbled across while looking for another item.  But other items we just weren't finding.  Fortunately Jungle Jim's has some helpful employees that seem to know where EVERYTHING is.  Frankly that's quite an accomplishment considering the breadth of items stocked!  She guided us to the remaining items and we finished up our shopping and headed out on our next errand.

What does this have to do with real estate?  Frankly it's not that different than home buying and selling.

A buyer or seller can choose to go solo.  There's enough information out there that they MAY be able to find what they need and head to checkout without assistance.

But chances are there are certain aspects of the process that are just MUCH easier when you have a knowledge professional guide them the through process.  Having someone that's been there, done that and knows where EVERYTHING is supposed to be and how to get there can prove invaluable to saving time and reducing stress.

It's your choice, go solo or find a guide.

Bill,  In my area ... Whole Foods is the store where I get international items.  I actually have the garum marsala spice ... I used it in a soup recipe.  Happy future cooking and a big hug to you and Liz!

OK  - can you share the chicken tikka marsala slow cooker recipe - that sounds delish - it's Sat. night - almost 9 pm  - i would rather think food than real estate - (but i like your analogy!)

Great analogy - the worst case scenario, you'd have found the stuff - finally, after wandering around for hours. Not the way I like to shop - for a speciality idea - or a house. Point made.  D

BLiz- I have a hard time just trying to navigate the smaller version of Publix here the few times I stop by. They move things around to fit the smaller space (geared towards seasonal people) and it takes me twice as long to find what I need.

sounds like our Buford Highway Farmer's Market, which should be called WORLD market. I mean it's International like the U.N.!!! And it's almost walkable from my house, but the 6 lanes of Buford Highway are not the most pedestrian friendly. 

I suppose the same is true when you go it alone in real estate. Be careful crossing the street, you could get run over by an 18-wheeler.
