I Deliver Hope & Heartbreak

is your offer the missing piece?Being a real estate agent involves sharing high and low moments with our clients.

We get to deliver hope. 

We listen to a seller's needs and know the current market and what we can and can't do for them.

We've got the answers for the key questions. 

How much? 

How fast? 

What do I need to do to get ready? 

What's the process?

And that means sometimes we to deliver even more than the seller hoped for:

"Yes, we can get MORE for your home than you thought!" 

THAT'S a pretty good feeling!

And listening to buyers we can provide the answers they need.

What can I get for my budget?

How often are homes on the market? 

How much time will I have to make a decision?

What do I need to do to have the best chance of getting the home I want?

So it's pretty cool when a home comes on the market and it's a PERFECT fit for our buyers.  It's time to act and the hope is strong!

But sometimes being an agent isn't so happy.  Sometimes we've got to be the bearer of bad news.

The cash buyer that looked GOLDEN for our seller?  The buyer didn't take into account the HUGE penalty for withdrawing from their retirement account.  Game over.

The buyer bought a car a week before closing.  There goes their debt to income ratio and bye bye loan.

The home inspector found something significant in a home that looked pristine.

That perfect home for our buyer?  In addition to our offer there's another 6 offers.  And the seller accepted one of the others.

It's a roller coaster living and while we can provide our clients some of the knowledge to prevent some of those heartbreaks, we can't control it all.

But the good news?  Every NO brings us close to YES.

Some of my favorite clients have been the women, mostly widowed, who were selling their homes to make the move to community or assisted living. It is a bittersweet season for them. Some are ready to downsize, but it is never easy to let go of a home filled with memories. There is always a mixture of happiness and sadness with the offers.

We definitely get to experience an emotional roller coaster representing buyers and sellers. I've always found the good news triumphs the bad news one. We always learn from the no's and yes we get closer to a yes with the no's we receive!

Sounds like a day in the life of an agent.  Your post  reminded me  of  a real estate trainer  David Knox tape  of a buyer interview where he said   "If you come in low- into this house you will not go".

Most folks don't have any idea all that goes into our jobs.  We want to help our clients get what they want, win when they bid, have minor repair issues.  However, evey day in this busines is different.

Being the bearer of bad news isn't fun....I've had to sing the multiple offer blues many's a time.     But if the buyer is persistent, eventually I will have good news for them!
